Discover Ubud - Retreat Your Way

Discover Bali

Around the world, Retreat Your Way discovers beautiful and culturally rich places that are centers of health and healing. Upcoming retreats for 2015/2016 will be held in Ubud, Bali. Bali, known as the Island of the Gods is imbued with spirituality and stunning, natural beauty. Bali is the lone Hindu island in the predominantly Muslim country of Indonesia.

The lush village of Ubud is located in the center of the island, a scenic one-hour drive from the international airport. Ubud is situated in rice paddies, with beautiful beaches within a 30 minute drive.

The word “Ubud” translates to medicine and is home to renowned traditional healers, international therapists, delicious organic food, irresistible shopping and jaw-dropping nature. It is also a center of art, dance and culture. The only problem you’ll have is not wanting to leave.

Visas

Nationalities of several countries, including North America, Europe, Australia and South-East Asia can enter Indonesia with a 30-day visa on arrival for US$35.

Weather

Bali has tropical weather all year long. The monsoon season is from November until end of February. Monsoon may entail one rain shower a day or a few or all day or none at all. The warmest months are October/November and March/April with temperatures around 33 degrees Celsius. June, July and August are the coolest and driest months, temperature on average mid-20 degrees Celsius.

What To Bring

Bring flip flops, sarong (or buy a beautiful one when you’re here), something to cover yourself with while you’re on the motorbike, either to protect yourself from the sun during the day or the cooler wind at night. You will also need a sarong to wear when you visit any temples. We strongly recommend bringing flat sandals or shoes only, preferable ones you don’t mind getting wet. We will provide you with a rain poncho.

Food

Ubud is a sanctuary of tasty and nutritional dining pleasures: local Balinese, vegan, vegetarian, raw, slow cooked, cold-pressed, French, Italian, Peruvian, Indian, Thai, fusion, continental. You will most certainly want to try the numerous options and spend some time enjoying your meals in beautiful surroundings.
